The Alamosa Bicycle Coalition (ABC) began in 2020 as a small grass-roots initiative. By refurbishing used bicycles and donating them to persons referred by local community partners, ABC works to meet the needs of those in our local community who lack access to other reliable basic transportation for work, school, appointments, shopping and other essential community engagements.
ABC also provides bike repair skills classes, offers its workshop for use by community members needing to repair their own bike, and introduces local youth to cycling skills and bike safety.
OUR MISSION
To increase the physical, social, emotional, and economic wellbeing of youth and adults, especially those with limited access to private or public transportation, by increasing their access to bicycles, cycling safety and repair skills.
OUR Vision
Alamosa is a cohesive, bike-friendly community that empowers the use of bikes for transportation, recreation, health, and safety for everyone.
